I have always favoured the ownership of nuclear weapons since I was at school and the reasons are this.
If one country only possessed nuclear weapons, they could take over the world. No other weapon known to man can defeat that sort of threat. Each country that owns them keeps that from ever happening. Remember that Iraq wouldn't have been invaded if they owned nuclear weapons, even though George W Bush claimed that Saddam had them.
That was a lie!
About the article, "even though it's almost a year old".
Clegg wrote.

"My ambition is simple: nuclear disarmament around the world. Under my leadership, Britain would use every last ounce of her leverage to secure multilateral, global disarmament."
"I would never permit Britain to destabilise the international order by adopting more aggressive nuclear weapons."

"Of course we should emphasise at every turn that we are serious about disarmament. That is why the party’s decision to decommission a substantial portion of our nuclear warheads in the run up to the 2010 talks is so important. "

Well Liberal won't get that luxury as they shall never win the election. I can't even see this as a vote-snatcher?

But the rest must be used to help disarm the world.
