. As usual poor Derek gets attacked for <shock horror> speaking the Queen's English and representing the upperclasses, or as the working class refer to as 'Toffs'. Go back to your council houses, you dole scroungers. I like Derek not only because he is a Tory but he also likes fox hunting. That alone gets my support without considering what tricks he gets up to in the house. He has every right to take the morale highground in the house and tell off the other housemates for stepping out of line because he is, contrary to what bananarama said, an erudite man who has kept a war from breaking out betwee housemates and been honest more or less from the start. Its only the commoners, liberals and lefties that dislike Derek because he represents the aristocracy. Well, they can just bloody well sod off. Peasants.
And yes, I admit I loathe most northern English accents (except Geordie). I consider it an affliction to talk with Manchester, Liverpool and Leeds accents. That girl speaking with I imagine to be a Lancs accent in the porchettas adverts makes my skin itch.
As for Science fans, Im sure there are a few of them who aren't obsessed and copy his mannerisms, however, I still think a lot of young people will immitate his aggressive style because they are not brought enough to think for themselves.
