'Why did we get into this shambles?' WAG Carly and George Takei ALREADY getting cold feet (and I'm A Celebrity hasn't even started)
The cameras haven't started rolling on the new series of I’m A Celebrity - but already the show is in jeopardy with two of the stars threatening to pull out.

While star Trek actor George Takei, 71, was left fuming after production staff left him stranded at Brisbane Airport today, WAG Carly Zucker has admitted she is unsure how she will cope in the jungle because she is petrified of creepy crawlies.

At the Australian airport today, Takei was supposed to be met by a security team. But he sauntered through the Arrivals hall unnoticed – and then spent 30 minutes wandering around the airport looking for help.

The ageing actor – who admitted that he has never seen the show – declared: 'I’ve no idea what I’m getting into, but now it seems it is a complete shambles.

'I’ve been left wandering the airport for 30 minutes on my own.

'They didn’t give me any phone numbers or contacts, but I was assured there would be someone to meet me here. I can’t believe I’ve been treated like this.'

The security team was tardy after a delayed arrival from fellow campmate Esther Rantzen – but they soon ran over to the actor when they realised he was waiting for them.

But his ordeal had When asked if he was looking forward to the show, the disgruntled star replied: 'Not if it’s as shambolic as this.'

Meanwhile Zucker, the fiancée of England footballer Joe Cole, seemed to to be somewhat reticent about entering the jungle, admitting she was having second thoughts.

Touching down in Brisbane tonight, the 24-year-old said: 'I’m scared of everything. 'I’m scared of creepy crawlies, spiders, heights, enclosed spaces, being in the dark, reptiles and slimy things.

'I’m not looking forward to this.'

While fellow WAG campmate and glamour girl Nicola McLean has admitted she’s taking mascara into the jungle and hopes to glam up the camp, Carly has different ideas.

'Am I going to be looking glamorous in the jungle? I don’t know about that,' she admitted.

'I’m not taking make-up in and I’m not too fussed about hairdryers and things like that.'

Takei and Zucker spoke of their jungle fears as the new batch of stars arrived down under to prepare to battle it out in the Australian jungle.

The ten contestants are said to be the most 'combustible' mix yet and while food and shelter may be scarce but there will certainly be a surplus of opinions around the campfire.

The little known WAG Nicola McLean eagerly led the arrivals after revealing her plans to be this year's Janice Dickinson.

She says: 'I am super competitive and I really don’t mind admitting it, if you do something I’m going to do it better.'

The blonde, who scarcely meets the 'celebrity' criteria, couldn't have looked more thrilled at the attention as she posed for photographers at the airport in a cleavage and midriff baring pink velour tracksuit.

However, Page 3 model Nicola, 25, who is engaged to Peterborough United footballer Tom Williams, isn't exactly looking forward to seeing blank faces when she meets her fellow campers.

She says: 'I don’t think people are going to know who I am to be honest. Which, actually, is going to be embarrassing when I walk in the room.

'I’m sure they’re going to think, ‘Who is she?'

'But do I really care? No because there have been loads of years when I didn’t know who people were and I read every celebrity magazine going, I buy the tabloids and there’s quite a few people where I haven’t known who they are.

'I’m sure if there are some young lads, they may know who I am but then the older people won’t.

'They’re just going to think that I’m a dumb blonde and that’s great. I agree with Pamela Anderson, "Act dumb and no-one expects anything from you".'

Her greatest fear is not wearing make-up, as her footballer fiance has never seen her without it, 'even during childbirth', she says.

Former police chief Brian Paddick, former EastEnders star Joe Swash and ChildLine founder Esther Rantzen were also seen arriving Down Under.

'I like challenges. I am willing to boldly go. I think it is going to be good fun,' Takei said.
Mr Paddick, who lost out to Boris Johnson when he ran for London mayor as the Liberal Democrat candidate, said he wanted to do something 'trivial' and was fed-up with being asked to speak on serious issues.

He was dubbed 'Cannabis Cop' after ordering officers to warn and not arrest people with marijuana when he was police commander for Lambeth.

The contestant, who was Britain's most senior openly gay police officer, said: 'I think the public, when they see me in the jungle, are going to see that I'm not some camp... liberal guy who's got really crazy ideas about everything on the planet including drugs.

'I think they're going to see somebody who actually is fairly normal, whatever normal is.'

The eighth series of the ratings-grabbing ITV jungle show kicks off on Sunday with the promise of even more terrifying bushtucker trials for the 10 celebrities.

The other names in the jungle will include Dani Behr, former presenter of The Word, and Simon Webbe, 30, formerly of boyband Blue.

Ms Behr, 37, once a regular face on TV, admitted that being a contestant on the programme was 'the fastest... but not the most dignified way' to make a comeback.
Robert Kilroy-Silk and tennis champion Martina Navratilova have also signed up.

Miss Navratilova said: 'I'm flying very blind here. I have no idea what to expect other than having to rough it in the bush in Australia with nine strangers. I've never seen the show and I don't know if that's good or bad.'

Earlier Miss Zucker said Cole was living 'his dream' through her appearance in I'm A Celebrity..., because his job meant he could not risk injury.

And speaking boldly, before she got last minute nerves today, Miss Zucker said: 'I'm not your typical girlie girl... I'm a daredevil.'

She said: 'I think people's perception of me may be I'm a girlie girl because I'm a footballer's fiancee and because I've been pictured with shopping bags etc.'

But she said: 'I think going on the show they're going to realise that I'm happy-go-lucky, relaxed, kind hearted and a people person really.'

Miss Rantzen, who presented That's Life for 21 years, admits her family were 'astonished and horrified' by her decision to go into the jungle.

'I have to face the worst, the result might be abject humiliation, the end of a career,' she said.

On her reasons for joining the show, she said: 'I think it's a very good idea at the age of 68 to push yourself. My guiding principle is, "if not now, when?"'

The contestants are filmed 24 hours a day as they take part in 'Bushtucker Trials' to win food for the camp, with viewers voting to decide who should be evicted from the show.
