\'No more Mr Nice Guy,\' vows David Van Day as he causes a stink in I\'m A Celebrity
Quote:
'No more Mr Nice Guy,' vows David Van Day as he causes a stink in I'm A Celebrity Last time David Van Day was picked to undergo a bush tucker trial he couldn't stop screaming in terror.
But it seems a few days living a back to basics lifestyle has toughened up the hair-proud Eighties singer.
As he headed off to tackle the Hell-O-Phone yesterday David revealed: 'Last time I was scared. 'Now I’m ferocious - the worm has turned, no more Mr Nice Guy.'
Surrounded by three red telephones, David was told that he would have to answer each phone as they rang.
But as he fought to answer the simple questions David was distracted by the shower of maggots, sludge and slime.
He managed to win nine stars - three times Nicola McLean's score of three, as he pointed out.
But David's I'm A Celebrity campmates were more concerned about his 'disgusting' smell.
When his returned to camp he initially got a round of applause.
But their appreciation soon turned to horror as they began to comment on the smell - with Carly Zucker and Nicola McLean holding their noses.
David admitted: 'I stink, I’ve got things crawling up my trousers biting my willy. But you know what? I feel really good.'
His friends in the jungle, Timmy Mallett and Joe Swash, quickly took him down to the creek and gave him a wash. When he cheekily asked them to clean his bum an outraged Joe pushed him into the water.
And in an ITV interview Ant and Dec revealed that they have a soft spot for David.
'I’m a big fan of David Van Day, to be honest,' said Ant. 'He’s a bit mad, you don’t know what you’re going to get.
'You can go from having a joke and a laugh to being deadly serious the next minute. So we’ll wait and see what David Van Day turns up.'
Dec added: 'What I can gather from all my messages and emails and texts from the UK, is that he’s a bit Marmitey – you either love him or hate him.
'I’ve been getting a lot of texts saying people hate him, but then again a lot saying he’s genius as well. It’ll be interesting to see where David’s journey goes.'
Ant also revealed that his favourite comedy moment of the series was David Van Day’s song 'Biff baff boff we’re celebrities.'
