It isn't possible at all. The 90 weeks assumes they don't sleep or take any time off. Assuming a 40 hour week:

182,000 x 5 mins = 910,000 mins

910,000 mins / 60 mins = 15,166 hours

i was assuming that several singers and groups would be auditoned in batches of twenty. maybe less. the judges walk into a large room. each act is given twenty maybe thirty seconds to perform. then it is either yay or nay whether they get a private audition later on. its only guesswork from me. as Im not too interested in the show at that early stage. that part is just for laughs. it is when the real talent like diana starts to emerge. thats when i get interested.
There is a producer audition before you see Simon etc, they decide if you're going to make good TV or not which at the end of the day is the production teams aim.
like i said above. i really dont know. that is why i threw that theory at you. the only real solution. as those five minute auditions sure add up. thanks for the information.
