The world wide web
The ability of computers to communicate with one another was developed slowly by US academics after 1969, who set up the Arpanet network. By 1990, it had been replaced by the internet, which was made available to commercial use in 1991. Almost at once, it grew dramatically, with users multiplying about 3,500 times a year throughout the 1990s, producing a contimuing revolution in communications and business. Internet users in 2000 numbered 295 million, by 2002 there were an estimated 530 million, and in 2008... Zero! Lets just think if the internet was gone, nothing, zero online, zero sites.. Would you miss it? Would it change your life?...
