Great news for Mutya from Heatworld
She might not have made a huge impact in the house yet (apart from the aforementioned breasticles), but the exposure she’s getting (which may or may not be breasticle related) is doing wonders for her career. According to Play.com, sales of the ex-Sugababe’s solo album Real Girl have shot up by 106 per cent since she entered the Celebrity Big Brother house t’other day. Wowzers. And she’s not the only CBB housemate who’s suddenly shifting units – sales of La Toya’s Sexual Feeling album (eww) have also soared by 89 per cent, while lots of people have also been buying Coolio’s Gangsta’s Paradise. Funnily enough, given that, er, legendary performance, Michelle Heaton hasn’t done much for Liberty X’s sales – their album X has only seen a small increase, while A1’s A List album isn’t even available to buy anymore (although apparently demand for old copies has increased in the PlayTrade second-hand section). “The early increase in sales goes to prove the power of Celebrity Big Brother and the impact that it can have on buying habits, even during a time when people are watching their pennies,” says Helen Marquis, Head of Music for Play.com. "If the figures are anything to go by, then it looks like we could have a surprise winner in Mutya of this year’s show!” We’re not sure about that, but we’re glad people are buying her solo stuff, as it’s actually rather good, don’t you think?
Looks like Mutya's solo career is back on track
