I really hope Ch4 take some notice of the feed back on Forums such as ours.

1. The bars were divisive and prevented the house mates from finding any meaningful level.

2. The Tasks were lightweight, boring for both the house mates and us.

3. With no discernible planning this year, most HMs and veiwers wandered "away". This year lacked the compulsive nature of BB1 and BB2. And that has nothing to do with the characters of the HMs.

4. Much has been written about this years HMs being chosen to suit the confrontational nature of the 2002 BB. The housemates would have been just as interesting as last years, once we had become involved with them. Creating artificial conflict resulted in their boredom and misery, and prevented us, the extended "family", from becoming "involved".

5. Whether BB4 will survive next year will depend on those viewers/fans having faith that this years mistake will be rectified. I for one will spend the first few weeks with my fingers crossed that it will return, as someone puts it, as "the BB we all know and love".

The Extended Family Syndrome upon which the BB phenomenon is based relies upon our becoming empathetic with the Housemates. This was not understood by this years production team as a whole. My fear is that, without some Ch4/Endermol input, the dissatisfaction felt amongst the fans will convert into disinterest next year.

As I have suggested before, Ch4 should capitalise on the investment they have made, and keep the Big Brother website and merchandising live, albeit in a rationalised form, so that it doesn't fall to "ThisisBigBrother.Com" to carry the flag ALONE till spring 2003!

aul::helen: Bless!
