It's probably people who thought the BBC over reacted to the whole thing who are complaining.

What she said was disgraceful but a sacking did seem a bit hash when some kind official warning or even a final warning and suspension would have been more the sort of thing that should have happened. After it wasn't broadcast on air!
The bbc have had alot of stick lately and any racial issue against them would even do more damage, maybe thats why they acted so quickly to show their zero tolerence with anything racist... By not sacking her many people would think the bbc supports her.
