That doesnt make any sense whatsoever. The only reason the sentenced him, is to appease the family probably.
It is easy to keep a lorry straight on a straight part of the motorway without looking, some take their eyes of just for few seconds.. All depends of load and wind (i was a driver for a clothes company) His laptop was on while driving the lorry, on the straight bit of the motorway he would have felt it safe to check is laptop.. But with that he is breaking the law and putting other road users at risk.. When your in a truck you can see further down the road day or night, if he was looking down the road he would have seen what was comming long before and would have time to reduce his speed safely due to the air breaks, but his never did that, his eyes was on the laptop..
Now i aint say he should be in prison for years and years but 3 years only means he will due 18 months and will be out next year.
