Sadly, Oldgit, I think you're absolutely right.
However as someone who would like to think of themselves as a true BB fan, for me it was not pleasant to watch, nor was it good entertainment in my eyes.
To quote the eloquent ROB, call me an old fart ...... but if I wanted to watch sex on TV I'd hire a porn video.
