Hi guys. I posted last year about how my mum was accepted for double knee replacement and hip replacement in a bid to attempt to get her to walk again. She hasn't been able to walk for 20+ years.
I think only people I speak to on msn have had an update, so just thought I'd post.
Her double knee op went well, she's been in hospital for way over a month now.
Her immediate post-surgery pain was apparently "bliss" for what she's been suffering with for years now, so we could see the improvement straight away.
She won't be having her hip operation for a few months until she builds muscle in her legs, since she hasn't walked for so long they're weak and unable to withstand pressure.
However... she took her first steps a week ago, using a weird zimmer with wheels contraption and everyday now she goes for tiny little walks, building up strength.
So all is good.
