insulting because as we come closer every day to knowing about where the universe began and attempt to uncover lifes mysteries through our knowledge and use of science, religious people don't want to face the harsh reality that they've been living a lie their whole life?

So what ? It helps people who are going through hard times.
But Science and Religion have always been rivals about this point.
