The couple could be miles apart for the next few years...
For the first time in their 10-year marriage, David and Victoria Beckham will officially be living apart, Now can reveal.
After months of rows over Posh’s reluctance to permanently move from LA to Milan for the sake of her husband’s career, David’s revealed that the pair will now be forced to live at opposite ends of the globe – at least for the time being.
‘My wife’s going to stay in LA with our children,’ said David, speaking about the situation for the first time last week. ‘We do what’s best for the children and they’re settled there.’
Posh has told him that it’s unfair to uproot their sons Brooklyn, 10, Romeo, six, and four-year-old Cruz. She also likes her profile in LA where she has made close friends, including Eva Longoria and Kate Beckinsale.
‘David knows his children love the US and he always puts their welfare first,' says our insider. 'It’s a struggle for him to be apart from them and is already missing key events in their lives.
'He was absent from both Brooklyn and Cruz’s birthday parties recently, but that’s what the foreseeable future looks like. Ideally, they’d be with him and he’d see them every day, but he can’t have his cake and eat it, too.’
The enforced separation is already starting to affect Posh. ‘She’s putting a brave face
on things right now, but privately Victoria’s in a lot of pain,’ an LA-based friend tells Now.
‘They’ve spent plenty of time apart over the years, but this is the longest period she’s ever had to cope with.'
