Yes it is over the top, because the things that made us laugh at Brian and the things that made us laugh at Kate were different. Brian was funny in a camp, bitchy way, even his gait when he walked was funny. With Kate, particularly in her routines with Jonny, the humour was more anarchic and silly.

However I would not see Kate as a comedian, I would see her in a "Helen Chamberlain" type role, being a female presenter in a traditionally male area. She has a strong personality, some laddish traits, and she can mix it with the lads...

She may well have to return to a normal job. Kate won BB3 for a number of reasons, including her comedy routines, her mimicry, her laddish behaviour, her caring side (Sophie, Jonny), the fact that she didn't get involved in most of the bitching and plotting, and I daresay that a few of the male minority of BB voters found her attractive (not something that helped her). That doesn't qualify her for TV roles in itself, but that does not mean she couldn't do it.

At the end of the day she seems sensible enough to choose her own path, and we will just have to see.
