THE star of the planned musical to celebrate Jade Goody's life will be found through a TV talent show.
Danny Harward, who was one of Jade's "best men" at her wedding to Jack Tweed, says he wants an "ordinary girl" to play the lead role.
Her publicist Max Clifford said it was a "wonderful idea that has got very, very strong potential" and agreed to be a judge on the show "if it comes to fruition".
Mr Hayward said open auditions will be held across the country to find hopefuls, with dates to be announced in three weeks' time.
He said he was hoping to "repeat history" by turning an unknown into a big name, just as Big Brother did for Jade.
Max explained: "Her dream as a little girl was to be in a musical, so obviously when she passed away it felt fitting to do something like this."
Defending himself against critics, he added: "If the show continues to raise awareness about cervical cancer, be a good night out and further her legacy, then it's not really hurting anyone."
The show would include some original songs, written by "well-known bands, who wish to remain anonymous" at the moment.
Mr Hayward hopes to pitch to MTV and ITV2 although no deal has yet been struck.
