Which is why it makes absolutely no sense that they didn't go for a complete relaunch last year.
After CBB5, BB8 was always going to be pretty much a write-off - any impact of a big relaunch then would have been lost amongst the aftermath of the race row, but a year later with BB9 the fans, viewers and media were ready to move on - and C4 should have clearly drawn a line under previous shows and started afresh - but they simply missed the boat. Even if they did relaunch properly this year, it would be too little, too late.
Endemol are as much to blame as well - when it became clear C4 were showing Big Brother because they had too Endemol just seemed to accept it and decided to do Big Brother by numbers - rather than stepping up to the challenge and fighting their way back into C4's affections.
