I'd have taken the money, as I think most people would have. That's what was so poor about the task, where was the loss to Eugene. He gets 50 grand guaranteed, and if he wins he gets a full 100 grand that he would have got anyway. I suppose the only risk to him was that he didn't know if he'd be evicted if he took it but as it was Eugene who had the choice, from his point of view, he has little chance of winning cos he was a latecomer.
