That won't matter, when it comes back in June if the ratings aren't good enough for ABC they can still axe it. Always happening with American shows.

No if there's a 4th season announced then it's happening since contracts have been signed and such. ABC could end up sued by the production company and/or it's production crew if they do not commit to it. If a new season of anything has been announced then it's happening.
America can be quite harsh with cancelling shows but cancelling it now when the fourth season's gone into production could be way more costly then actually just showing a fourth season then ending it if it doesn't do well.
