Depends why they are leaving in the first place? Is the husband abusive? Then yes they should leave and no it would not be stupid. It would be strong and brave of them.
All depends on why they are leaving. Women do very good jobs of raising children on their own and not all women would be bitching about the childrens fathers or making up lies about them.
