The one that tried to turn Helen against Paul the most was Brian. People forgave or even turned a blind eye to that fact. So why not forgive Elizabeth who really was doing no more than gossiping about a juicy piece of info that Paul himself had provided. There are no real villains here. just people who make mistaken judgments. like all of us do.........
