Newcastle is cack, I live there. Too busy, floors are sticky, always trouble, queues for drinks. There are SOME good bars, but it's still quite lame sometimes. In the summer it's alright, when people don't decide to stab each other.

I actually prefer Sunderland for a night out, cheaper drinks, better music, better bars.

Edit: Like Fom said, Manchester is good. But not to my liking cos the city is so ****ing big, you can't just bump into people you know, or skit from one bar to the next (well you can, but you'll only cover a small area).
