the gossipy next-door neighbour, or the grouchy grandma in a rocking chair. Watch her - she is always munching or sipping on something when she's not smoking. She sits cosily and self-satisfactorily chirping up to make the odd know-it-all observation now and then, unless of course she picks up on the scent of some kind of confrontation, and she starts getting all excited, like a little pinscher or jack russell.
