It is preposterous.

A mental disability such as DS is not a turn on... people with DS tend to have a mental age lower, sometimes much lower, than their physical years. The kind of man or woman who would be attracted to a person with DS is, for me anyway, on a par with a paedophile, at very least someone who would prey on a vulnerable person.

I have a theory based on the fact that the actual footage of Marcus saying this is missing - Charlie is not the brightest penny in the piggie bank, right? Is it not possible that Marcus said something else, I'm guessing along the lines of Asperger syndrome and Charlie didn't know what it was, or forgot when recounting the story, and said Down Syndrome.

It's still a bit despicable but I think it is far more likely that a person might want to represent themselves with a condition like Asperger than something like DS.
