Because he could have done far more to integrate himself into the group back then, like he is doing now.
He used to sit alone, or make poorly timed goofy comments that p****d everyone off.
He'd then use the angle of 'It's just me being me, I'm a friendly guy, but look - they aren't accepting it'.
He'd also debate with them - But they'd get angry, he'd stay calm, thus it looks like he's the one pushed into a corner.
He also claimed that the house were screwing him over regarding nominations. Never once did he say, 'Well, I am the outsider, so it's expected that I'd be up a lot. I need to integrate more.'
He milked the situation for what it was worth. Creating a 'House against Freddie' scenario; so the public side with the under-dog.
Clever guy. He's played the dumb BB public really well, which I appreciate.

-He did a lot to integrate with the group, in fact he tried a bit TOO hard which is probably why they initially got annoyed with him.
-No he didn't sit alone, come on we have video proof of him sitting with and interacting with others. Maybe he did go off on his own at times, but only because he is obviously more intelligent than the others and they made it VERY clear that they didn't want to talk about the things he wanted to talk about. If people didn't want to talk to me, I'd go off on my own too.
-he was being a nice guy, what about on the first eviction when he wanted to give Sophia a good send off and Lisa started a fight with him for no reason. Here:
