I think weight issues have a lot more to do with the media then what Men say, (although that could be an oxymoron cosidering most of the media is run by men) but articles like Heat magazine pointing out every single flaw are worst then what a python shoed man would say.

i agree that the media are terrible for it, but by hearing a man saying it, it makes women think "i knew it!! men do want us to be skinnier"
i know it may sound stupid to men, but to women, it's a big thing. constantly comparing ourselves, not only to celebs, but to other women all the time.
the first thing i said when kenneth said that was ask my partner what he thought of sophie's body. if he thought she should lose weight, just to see what he thought was too fat. yeah us women are nuts!!
