Marcus is a man with zero insight, no emotional intelligence at all. Noirin is a poor lost little girl with real self-esteem issues. Something clearly happened to her in the past that makes her need affirmation that she is attractive. Tom probably has the most honest and honourable attitude to women of all the men in the house.
