Or he liked her, genuinely believed what he was saying to her, and just wanted to protect her from the players. Poor sod is slowly realising she's the biggest player in there now

... and, what did he say to her about the other housemates that was not the truth? The main thing he did was point out Lisa's actions & influence, which we have all seen to be the case. I don't remember him trying to slag off Sophie or Rodrigo for example.
