He was acting like a 12 year old, as per usual.
He was annoyed and jealous, with a bruised ego.
I think its a good thing though he thought to much of himself anyway, though im not sure thats a defence mechanism of his...
When he feels uncomfortable or worried about somthing he acts the big man.
Hes quite mentally immature..
