You're right.... It's doubtful if she's ever felt real empathy for anyone. She was well aware of what Siavash was sacrificing for her: they spoke about it before and during their first night of kissing. That was of no concern to her as long as she was getting the attention and gaining the control of the situation. It allowed her to take the moral highground when she eventually distanced herself from him.
