The problem is that these frauds make loads of guesses and the punters remember the hits and forget the misses.
Imagine you have a handfull of darts and throw them at a regular dart board. Some are bound to hit the bullseye, and people will say that's amazing, overlooking there may be many darts that don't even hit the dart board.
They only see the hits.
That is how cold reading works
