Reminds me a lot of another American 'historic first' whos only 'black' anything was that his father - who abandoned him and his mother - happened to be Arab-Kenyan.
Later Obama who was raised by white people (who didn't abandon him) is happy to pretend to be African-American.
Like Barry he justifies it by saying that some people 'in a room' once misidentified them and so they can now misidentify themselves all they want.

I had actually suppose Noirin was just finding a way to 'sell out' black people by admitting she has shamefully posed for the cover of Nuts.
I'm sure real Black people are so proud to find out 'they' just did something so tasteless and whorish.

If you think white america accepts halle or obama as one of them you are just ignorant to the point of criminal. If obama was accepted by the white community he would not have caused a race issue in american politics. Being part of a group is not something you can decide as an individual, said group must recognise and accept you as an equal and valued member. For example i cannot say i am italian because i meet none of the criteria, i was not born there, i have no italian heritage, i dont even speak the language and more importantly italians would not accept me as an italian because i do not fit any italian criteria. As another poster just said if white people do not consider halle to be white how can she claim to be white with any legitamacy. I can claim to be italian all i want but if italians say 'no your not' then i am deluded. The black community accepts halle and her black heritage the white community rejects her white heritage and this has nothing whatsoever to do with which race parent was the better one, its just slightly more complex than that.
