Wow, you've twisted that so much by adding your own little comments here and there ... really, it was actually quite impressive.
You do realise that the bias that we all have, causes us to rationalize and distort perception in order to agree with our ideas and thoughts?
You're making massive leaps in logic based on 'smiles' and whatnot, and that David felt attacked as he was by himself and wanted support.
