To a certain extent he got what he deserved after turning against her becase of the way Marcus dripped poison about her into his ears on fag-gate night. Bea is confused at the sudden change in Freddie and the way he relates to her.
Marcus said she was a 'negative' influence on Freddie. Freddie then told her she was acting negative in the house. She came out fighting at this slur.
Marcus is at the root of this, but Freddie has a share of the guilt for being so easily re-programmed by such a transparent manipulator as Marcus.
