Fair enough, he cant be expected to put his life on hold, but to be somewhere near her incase something happens would be nice.

she's in a coma and has been for TWO years
if there were any changes to her health he would be notified, just like if anything serious happened to family of the hm.
there's no reason for him to think that her condition would change whilst he's in the house, it hasn't changed for the last two years
