That 4% difference between Marcus and Freddy could have gone either way had Lisa not given Marcus a hug in the pool (and had it not been shown),
but,
while not as extreme as the Noirin-Isaac scenario that saved Marcus last time - the Freddy situation was a case of a HM who mistook his popularity as something more than it was and then gloated over it.
Truth is, Freddy was being saved not because people 'loved Freddy' but because he was highly annoying and was a 'protest vote' against the model-block.
And was being 'picked on' and bullied by them.
After they were broken up then Freddy was on his own to win people over or not.
He did seem to warm up but the problem is someone told him he was highly popular.
That was a mistake. He wasn't 'popular' in the sense of loved but largely as a 'protest vote'.
Anyways.. he gloated over that, became arrogant and then taunted Lisa openly.
THAT is what killed him.
Bea used Marcus and so did Lisa and made Marcus look as good as possible - thus ensuring their desire to tip Freddy over the edge.

It was just 3 or 4% but that was just enough.

Marcus is a total fukktard, a phony, a backstabbing gossip and I have NO IDEA why any Freddy fans would capitulate over to the very guy who helped get Freddy evicted.
And was grinning and boasting about it before realizing he screwed up and tried to cover it up with the worst 'acting performance' lol
