Default Off to Xplore space? (contestant info)

THE X Factor judges get ready for blast-off as the countdown begins to series six on ITV1 this Saturday.

And there isn't a more alien site on the show than a contestant dressed as a chicken.

Brave David G put his eggs in one basket by wearing a chicken costume.

Equally eccentric Nathan opted for hen headgear.

And a performer by the name of Karen appeared as Rudolph the reindeer.

But they weren't the only ones trying to pluck up attention - as Dannii Minogue and Cheryl Cole looked out of this world while posing on the show's new space-age gangway.

Not wanting to steal the stunning girls' thunder Simon Cowell and Louis Walsh kept a down-to-earth feel in dowdy jeans.

Cheryl, 26, went for a touch of sparkle while her style rival Dannnii, 37, looked simply stunning in purple.

The girls' outfits wouldn't have been out of place on Star Trek.

And they kept the futuristic theme alive in other gear.

But there were some contestants that put a beam on the judges' faces as Dublin twins John and Edward Grimes, 17, made it through to bootcamp. They are backed by fellow Irishman Louis Walsh.

Blonde Faye Bray, 28, took the conventional route to Cowell's affections - by wearing a basque.

Ecstatic Princess Sweetie - real name Joyce Edwards - jumped for joy after impressing the panel.

And rocker Behrouz proved he was hot stuff by leaping around stage while wearing a stifling leather suit.

But Rozelle Phillips really wowed the audience as she belted out Jennifer Hudson's One Night Only.

A blogger wrote: "She received a standing ovation."

She can't chicken out now.
