People break the rules in there all the time, dear. Thats why they were always sent to jail, or get other punishments. He isn't a bad character like many of the others, he says what he thinks and doesnt stab people in the back. Morally, theres 3 -4 much worse than him in there. You just equate this rule break to be worse than others.

Not playing the game is the worst rule break.
Also I think he is fake and playing Mr nice guy to win the show.
