I fail to see any material difference between Siavash and Sophie in this case. Personally I like Siavash and don't mind Sophie at all but they should simply get their act together and nominate.
Attempts to excuse Sophie while condemning Siavash are feeble, as far as I am concerned.
As far as the reactions in the House are concerned, I would just tell Rodrigo to sod off. His arrogant lecturing about the rules is very, very irritating. And David and Charlie too.
