I'm very proud to be a fan of Britney Spears because she is undoubtedly one of the greatest pop stars of our time. Whether you agree or not with the things she does, wears, says or sings, you cannot deny that she set the bar for everything that is pop this decade. Her videos/songs/dancing are each iconic in their own ways and for that she's one of the best selling female artists of the decade.

But I don't care about all of that. I love her because she went through something so terrible so publicly and she managed to come out of it and rebuild her life and the love around her. That is, to me anyway, such an amazing and inspiring story and is proof that when you're at the lowest point of your life, you can still come out of it stronger. I become a full-blown fan during that horrible era and I remember my dream for such a long time was to see her in concert because she's my idol and I never ever thought that day would happen. When I was in that arena waiting for her come on I truly realised how far she'd come from the days of 2007. I can't describe how proud I felt of her, despite not personally knowing her. But after following her every day for so long I strangely feel like I do.

She's genuinely one of the most down-to-earth celebrities out there. She's a full out Country girl, despite living in LA and is largely underrated in her talents. She does write songs (whether or not they appear on her albums), she plays the piano and is very artistic. Her music inspires me and I can't imagine not loving Britney Spears because she makes very very happy. For that reason I don't care when people say otherwise or try to put her down. If you don't like her, fair enough. In my opinion, it's your loss.
