Marcus did give Tom a hard time with a serious amount of babble and also became a human duvet c**kblocker (keeping him away from norin.)
But it was actually BEA that caused tom to leave:
Norin told bea that she fancied Tom. Bea told norin NOT to tell anyone and then bea was having a heart to heart with tom & bea told him norin did not fancy him at all. So while Marcus was driving him crazy with his rambling nonsense about norin, he was now told that she didnt even like him. There was nothing/nobody in the house that gave him someone to get along with, everyone had hidden agendas and was driving him crazy. It was all fueled by the Norin magic.
