You should read R. D. Laing's - The Divided Self. and also Sanity, Madness and the Family. It may help you.
Of course Laing's gig re the family(and perhaps by extension wider society)being the deciding factor re mental health is largely out of favour these days. But it might be a good starting point for you.
There is also the vibe that you might be some kind of feminist, but of the outdated 1st/2nd wave type. That is so pre 1990 and largely superceded by smarter go-getter type feminists. Have a look at some of the third wave feminist stuf out there both as related to serious academic thought and in popular culture.
