her bulllying stemmed from the fact she couldnt cope with someone who has education, wealth and decency

while he was talking about politics , starting businesses and a career she was busy thinking how she was gonna get her next fix of food, fags and drink

She didn't bully him that bad and it was practically the whole house who was against him at the start.
Because of the status and wealth, Freddie was born into. He can talk about politics, people like him have seats reserved. Yes he can start businesses, he's got the family wealth he can chuck around. So he can get his fags, his booze and his food...just like lisa.
They both want the same thing except Freddie alreay has it and wants more status and self promotion. Lisa is just an ordianry working class person on hard times.
So she may have said she has somethings on the VT..so what people do that on these VTs. Give Lisa a break
