It's radiation poisoning. Lisa has to expose herself to intense gamma radiation every 9 hours. This is to stop her from losing her human form and transforming back into a giant faeces eating cockroach from planet Thringor.
Unfortunately Sophie has been drinking her radioactive potion thinking it is a can of special brew, making her hair fall out.
