Default My Christmas Wish

Following in ROB's shoes.

Sorry to take a tiny little bit of ROB's glory (and it is a very little bit) but this is what started her off. I was feeling a bit bored after writing poems for a birthday, leaving card and baby congrats - its a part of the job contract at work and came up with this which I shared with ROB. Hope you like it.

FIRST CHRISTMAS

It’s your first Christmas in your own little home
Now you’ve settled, don’t want to roam
Decorations all glittery and pink
That’s Hel’s taste, Paul what do you think?
A tree that’s tall and presents to buy
There’s not enough time you both do sigh

So let Helen get on with decorating the place
It will be worth it to see her face
When it’s finished and the lights go on
A million pounds she’ll think she’s won
But what makes this time a great big ball
It’s cos she shares it with that great guy Paul

The flat will be full of joy and love
The people downstairs will be welcome above
A party there may surely be
Can we come too? What a joy to see
Our Helen and Paul in their own little nest
That would be good – that would be the best

But Christmas morning when you wake up
Together, alone your tea you sup
Helen will be excited, Helen will scream
In your presents Paul, is there Dream Cream?
And Helen what have you bought her, we’d like to know
A ring would be nice, wrapped up in a bow

The presents will be blinding, they will all be lush
To open all our Helen will be in a rush
Fan bloody tastic and totally cool
Paul knows what she likes, he is no fool
Perhaps he’s a present wrapped up for his girl
Her reaction – you guess it – it will give her a thrill

But whatever your presents we know you two
Will enjoy the day whatever you do
Be it going to the family down Reading way
Or across the bridge to Cwmbran for the day
As long as you’re together that’s the thing
Just dont get too drunk and start to sing

So Christmas wishes we send to you
Just give us some news, we pray you do
We’ve waited so long, we’ve waited in vain
Please do it Paul, while we’re still sane
For you to ask her if she’ll say I do
Is our wish this Christmas for the pair of you

Hope you like it.
