Stars reap benefit of Big Brother effect
10 January 2006
It seems appearing on a reality show has proved a positive experience for some of those trapped in the Celebrity Big Brother house.
The contestants, who include rapper Maggot from Newport's Goldie Lookin' Chain, Sam Preston of The Ordinary Boys and singer Pete Burns, have all have seen there sales rise since entering the house.
Preston's band The Ordinary Boys were virtually unheard of before he entered the house but sales of their album Brassbound have rocketed over the past week.
HMV's online store HMV.co.uk reports sales up tenfold.
The 'best of' collection by Pete Burns' group Dead Or Alive has trebled in sales while the second album by Goldie Lookin' Chain has seen a fourfold increase.
