Here are some other excuses you could have used:
His throat was real bad but was too macho to say so and needed to get it checked, he is an events organiser after all
He missed his mother. He seems genuine and honest and would really love to have seen her.
He didn't want his girlfriend to be embarrassed further with more mentions so he mentioned sophie instead.
He had to mention Sophie because he needs to attach himself to the winner and most popular because his life is so bad and he is desperate for the exposure (oh that's the truth).
He secretly fancies Sophie and as we have seen in the house, so does she so he wanted to express the obvious and why he really wanted to leave - definitely not for Sophie BLeeaaArgh!
He was a little bit too much woozy due to the Sore throat meds that also made him scream shout and also talk and didn't have an effect on any other part of his health, just his sore throat because Siavash is unlike us - he has Alien DNA which means when he has sore throats - he is still powerful and fit and wow - he's fit - but I must get a new TV because the pictures are always fuzzy on mine.
Sophie needed support. People don't like her much. I think she only got votes because people pressed 6 instead of 5 when voting for Siavash... Siavash would have won if everybody wasn't drunk while voting.
Sophie is like his sister, he wanted her to feel happy.
