HOUSE ABOUT THAT THEN?
Sir Jimmy joins celebs
By James Fielding

13 January 2006

KING of Bling Sir Jimmy Savile will enter Celebrity Big Brother this weekend - and thrill housemates with his "special thing".

The veteran DJ and presenter will arrive in the house on Saturday.

But he'll leave other contestants green with envy by staying the night at a swanky hotel nearby.

After being pampered, he will then return on Sunday for the day before saying his goodbyes to Michael Barrymore and co in the evening.

Sir Jimmy, who owns a house in Glencoe, said he had been watching the Channel Four reality TV show as "homework".

And the jewellery-clad star said he would "comfort" under fire Jodie Marsh if she was still left in.

Speaking to Ugly Phil on Kerrang Radio's breakfast show this morning, he said: "I watch the show avidly.

"My deal is that I, God willing, will go in on Saturday and have a good time.

"I will do my special thing because I'm doing my special thing for the housemates, they don't know that yet.

"Then I come out in the evening and go to a hotel next door and live off the fat of the land and the next day, God willing, I will go back and spend a day with them."

He also offered support to his old pal Barrymore, who viewers have seen break down in tears after arguments with Jodie and Chantelle.

Sir Jimmy said: "I have known him for quite some time and he's basically a very, very pleasant guy.

"But he got into choppy water, as we know, and sometimes choppy water can destroy people's confidence.

"He's spent his life making people laugh and al l of a sudden he gets into choppy water and he got crucified by all sorts of people.

"He's always on tenterhooks in the house because he doesn't know if anyone's going to have a go at him.

"But I can tell you, he's quite a smashing fellah."
