Big Brother viewers evict Marsh
13 January 2006
Glamour model Jodie Marsh has become the first star to be evicted from the Celebrity Big Brother house.
Marsh, MP George Galloway and singer Pete Burns were up for eviction by public vote on the Channel 4 show.
After being turfed out of the house, the 27-year-old said the show had turned into a game of "pick on Jodie".
Marsh's parents earlier accused the other housemates of bullying their daughter, who spent much of her time in the house crying.
She is a supporter of anti-bullying charity Beatbullying after talking about her time at the hands of bullies while she was at school.
A tearful Marsh said after her eviction that the other housemates upset her by constantly telling her to leave the country.
When asked if she had learned anything about herself, she replied: "That I don't get on with people who pretend they aren't transvestites when they really are".
Fellow contestant Burns earlier raised concerns that he and the others may be viewed by the audience as cruel for the way they have treated her.
Celebrity Big Brother has attracted average ratings of 4.3 million this series, making it one of Channel 4's most popular programmes.
