[rquote=2564473&tid=147484&author=ElProximo]It is definitely as old as my childhood and I mostly remember it as a girls 'hopscotch' song/rhyme.
Along with:
"Red rover, red rover, I call ___ over"
and,
"Ring around the rosey, pocket full of posey, husha, husha, we all fall DOWN!"

Yes, it does seem that most of these were incorporated into bad horror movies with the obvious idea that I would watch and be chilled associating childhood memories with impending doom or perversion.

Yes, I do suppose most of the young people today do not know these old 'nursery rhymes' etc other than as being 'the song from that horror movie'.
But they are much much older.

Does anyone on earth still remember a song that was sung by wiggling the child's toes and it went:
"this little piggy went to market.. this little piggy went home.. this little piggy something something..."
?[/rquote]

Thats an interesting post from you ElProx. Strange little insight into you...

If you look at a lot of the nursery rhymes and childrens storys (Grimm Brothers) they are often very sinister and full of horror elements, makes you wonder if times back then were much sinister or whether children could deal with horror better.

Now we have the disney-fied versions of these stories that remove the best parts of the evil elements.
